The Penultimate Week

Hey fam,

The penultimate week is in the books!  It was another good one, I was able to do a handful of baptismal interviews throughout the week in the zone, and we had another baptism here in the area, Valeria. I also had a meeting with the Stake President and our Mission President to talk about opening up a new branch here in the stake.  It will be Salsipuedes, which is part of Rio Ceballos (several of my baptisms were in that town).  The plan is to open it up within the next 6 months.  Missionaries will start working there next week, 4 days a week.  We are pretty excited, it was something I had really been pushing for ever since they sent me back to the stake. Sunday night I went to Rio Ceballos and had a meeting with the Bishop there to talk about the logistics of how we were going to start working there.  I also went to Hermana Martinelli's and had pancakes and syrup, just like the old times!

Yesterday was our last mission conference with President Alliaud.  It was by far the best one.  He and the Hermana told us the story of how they met and got married, which was hilarious.  There was a big emphasis on changes, and how changes help us grow.  But we have to be constant in our work, because we are baptizing more than we have in a decade in the mission, and we still have a lot of untapped potential, both in the mission and as individual persons.

This week I have to do papers and run around the embassies so they can let me out of the country legally.  I will also have my last interview with President, Wednesday and Monday I go to the temple.  Monday I will go to Carlos Paz.  Thursday or Friday I will go work in Rio Ceballos for the last time.  And if all goes well, we should have a baptism or two this last week!

Love yall!  See you in a week!

San Francisco

Hey fam,

Missionary life is good.  It has been a pretty hectic week, which is why I am writing
on a Wednesday!  We baptized again, 4 weeks in a row with the font full!  Not too
shabby, it was the nephew of our ward mission leader, Leo se llama el chico.  We
worked a lot with our investigators, had a zone meeting, and I did my intercambio
with Elder Ramirez. A pretty fun week.

Monday I went with Elder Troncos, who is in charge of the pensions in the mission, to
San Francisco.  Not the one in California, the one in Argentina.  Its about a 3 hour
drive. We drove up, there was a terrible fog, we could only see about 10 yards ahead
of us as we drove.  And on top of that, it was a 2 way highway, where there is no
barrier between the cars and they come at you 150 KM an hour.  It was an exciting
trip up there!  We got up there and dropped off the bikes, microwaves, and blenders
we had brought. One of my old comps, Elder Castro, is one of the zone elders up
there so we had a big Argentine BBQ before we started the drive back.  We got back,
visited a few people in Troncos's area, and then got a call from President inviting us
to ANOTHER BBQ, because one of the elders from my group had to go home 2 weeks
early for health issues, and it was his last night.  So we went to this fancy restaurant
and all ate together.  It was a pretty good day!

Yesterday I went to drop of Elder Nelson at the airport (my buddy who had to go
home early).  That was a weird experience, seeing as that will be me in 2 weeks...
not something I enjoy thinking about!  Last night we had our mensual meeting with
the Stake and Mission President.  We talked about opening up 2 new branches in the
stake, and realigning the limits to make a new ward as well.  We are trying to hasten
the work here in Estaca Sierras!

Church was interesting on Sunday.  The Elders Quorum President started off his
lesson saying that women have the priesthood, so it got interesting pretty fast.
One of the members here is an ex-mission president and is currently in the temple
presidency here in Córdoba, so he corrected him.

Love yall!
